Adoption process
-
Browse our website to find your perfect new furry family member. All animals we have available for rehoming are listed on our website which is updated regularly
-
If you see an animal that you feel is right for your family (having read all the information on their profile) then please complete the ‘Perfect Match Form’ which is linked from their profile page
-
You will receive an acknowledgement email once we receive your application. Due to the volume of applications we receive on a daily basis, we are only able to contact successful applications so if you have not heard from us within a week, your application has been unsuccessful on this particular occasion. This does not necessarily mean you were assessed as not being able to offer the animal a suitable home. It is often the case that another applicant may have submitted their interest form before you or may have been better suited for the particular animal, so please do not be put off from applying for another
-
If considered a suitable match, one of the team will contact you by phone to discuss your interest further, then an appointment may be made for you to meet your chosen animal at the centre. We will need to see videos and photos of your home and garden as part of the virtual home visit. We may also ask for extra information such as landlords' permission or vaccination cards of current pets. For small animals and birds, we will need to see a photo of the planned set up and dimensions
-
A member of the animal care team will introduce you to your chosen animal. You will have the opportunity to spend time with the animal, ask questions and make sure it is a suitable match. Every person who resides at your home will be required to meet the animal. The animal's carer will advise if a second meet is required. It is not uncommon for animals particularly dogs and cats to need more time to feel comfortable around new people and so second meets are often required for nervous or timid animals
-
Similar to your first meet, a member of the animal care team will facilitate a meeting between you and your chosen animal and will be on hand to answer any further questions you may have. Assuming all goes well, the animal will be placed on reserve and will be booked in to see the vet for a ‘pre home check’
-
Once all required visits have been completed, a virtual home visit carried out and the animal has successfully passed its pre home vet check, an appointment will then be made for you to collect your animal. On the day of adoption, you will need to complete some adoption paperwork and the adoption fee will be taken
