Dog Walking & Cat Cuddling
Love dogs but unable to commit to one as a pet? If yes, then why not become a volunteer dog walker at the centre. The animal centre is located in a lovely countryside setting with a variety of peaceful walks to undertake. At any one time, we can have over 30 dogs all needing a walk each day, so any help is much appreciated. Spending time with animals is one of the most rewarding ways to volunteer.
What you might do:

Walk dogs to support their physical and emotional wellbeing

Provide companionship, comfort and enrichment for cats

Help animals build confidence and social skills

Fundraising & Events Volunteer
We are always in need of volunteers who can help us at a variety of events which we either run or attend throughout the year. Our fundraising volunteers help us raise vital funds and awareness across the community.
What you might do:

Reception & Administration
Our reception volunteers are often the first face and voice people encounter when they visit Longview Animal Centre. This role is essential in creating a calm, supportive and professional environment for visitors, adopters and members of the public.
What you might do:

Welcome visitors and direct them appropriately

Answer phone calls and take messages

Support appointment bookings and enquiries

Help with basic admin and paperwork

Provide reassurance and kindness to people during emotional moments

This role is based at Longview Animal Centre and includes full guidance and support.
Charity shop
Our charity shops are a vital lifeline for the animals in our care. Every item sold helps fund food, veterinary treatment, warmth and enrichment at Longview Animal Centre.
As a Retail Volunteer, you will be part of a friendly, community-focused team helping our shops thrive.
What you might do:

Serve customers and offering a warm welcome

Sort, steam and price donated items

Create attractive displays and window layouts

Support sales through the till and gift aid process

Help keep the shop organised, clean and inviting
Why it matters:
Funds raised in our shops stay right here in Blackpool and North Lancashire, directly
supporting local animals in need.
