Rocky came to Longview after his previous owner was sadly no longer able to care for him. He is a very big lad with an even bigger personality, but underneath his size, he is a complete softie. Rocky is incredibly friendly and loves meeting people, receiving attention and soaking up cuddles. He will happily lean against you for fuss and has even been known to climb into your lap because, in Rocky’s mind, he is definitely a lap dog!

Rocky is a young, playful boy who loves having fun, especially with toys. He particularly enjoys soft toys in the paddocks, although he is always happy to stop for some cuddles. Due to his size and strength, Rocky can be very strong on the lead, so continued lead training and basic training will be important to help him become a well-mannered companion and settle into his new home.

Rocky is looking for an active home where he can keep both his mind and body busy. His new family will need to be committed to continuing his training and providing plenty of appropriate exercise, enrichment and positive experiences.

Rocky would need to be the only animal in the home. Although he has previously lived with another dog and can walk past dogs, he can sometimes become overexcited. Being the only dog will give him the space he needs while allowing his family to focus fully on his training and development.

Due to his size, strength and youthful excitement, Rocky would be best suited to an adult only home. Experience with large breeds or young, excitable dogs would be particularly beneficial. Despite being such a big boy, Rocky truly is a gentle giant. He has had a difficult start in life, but he has so much love, enthusiasm and fun to give and is ready for his next adventure.
