Buddy arrived at the centre after being abandoned and left by his previous owners. Buddy is a very smart boy and needs outlets to keep his mind active and stimulated. He loves to play with his toys in the paddock and will even throw them around by himself, he also loves various types of enrichment. Buddy is a really good walker and is happy to have lots of sniffs. Buddy would need an active home environment with adopters who will be able to take him on lots of adventures as he is still a young lad who has a lot of energy that he needs to get out.
Since first arriving Buddy has come along leaps and bounds, he is now a lot calmer in himself and responding well to his handlers with his continued training and are all very proud about how far he has come. Buddy is a very cuddly dog who doesn't realise how big he is sometimes, but will still want to sit in your lap at all times and snuggle right up to his handlers. Buddy is still learning and is constantly improving every day that he is here, what he now needs is a home where he can be treated like the prince that he is.
Previous experience with big, highly active dogs is essential with Buddy. Due to this we feel like Buddy would do better in an adult only home. Buddy has shown to do really well with dogs that are onsite and has walked out with some, due to this we feel like Buddy could potentially live with another dog. This would be decided upon after a successful meeting at the centre. He is very responsive and eager to be around people, he just needs time to learn it’s ok to settle and be calm. He is a sweet boy who needs adopters that are understanding about what he has been through and know he will need time and extra training to make sure he becomes the best he can be.
